Meet Ola Majewska

Q&A

Why were you drawn to studying Positive Behaviour Support?

I find that all three fields of my studies and work experience: psychology, counselling, and behaviour support, often overlap and complement each other. Each field strengthens and informs the others. Behaviour support, in particular, has deepened my understanding of how neurodivergent individuals experience, interact with, and respond to the world around them.

What do you enjoy about your work, and what are you interested in or fascinated by?

I truly enjoy working with my clients and can only hope that they learn as much from me as I do from them. I am constantly fascinated by exploring how each person perceives and interacts with the world in their own unique way. Collaborating closely with my clients and their support networks allows me to connect on a deeper level. I aim to think and feel as my clients do, working towards greater understanding so I can support them and their families to the best of my abilities.

What drives you to show up for yourself and your clients in this role?

Advocating for my clients, supporting them to make meaningful changes, and continually expanding my knowledge and experience are what drive me in this role.

What have people said about your approach to this work?

I have been privileged to be described by others as:

  • Approachable

  • Understanding

  • Empowering and making a difference in a client’s life

  • Respectful and never patronising

  • Having a good sense of humour
